At Main Paige Media, we love diving into projects that allow us to capture the heart and soul of an organization. When Robbins Children’s Programs approached us for a video, we knew this was going to be special. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at how we brought their vision to life.
Robbins Children’s Programs is more than a childcare and after-school center. It’s a sprawling 22,000-square-foot facility situated on 3 acres in Attleboro, MA, offering a wealth of resources to children and families. The Executive Director, Janice Chabot, and Enrollment Coordinator, Cheryl Brennan, came to us with a clear goal: to showcase their incredible space in a way that resonated with families.
They wanted the focus to be on their expansive facilities, which include 3 outdoor playgrounds, an indoor play center, and a unique maker space for STEM education. They are also the only childcare center in Attleboro offering free transportation for families with documented needs. The goal was to showcase the impressive facilities while also highlighting the programming at Robbins.
This production was different from our usual interview-based, documentary-style videos. Because the building was the star, we opted for a scripted video with a voiceover actor. Here’s how we made it happen:
Strategy and Planning – We began with our standard Deep-Dive Strategy call. We do this for every production, however for this particular session we also brought along Abby Thompson, who wrote the script. On the call we determined the key messages and must-have details for the script. In order to keep the video under 3 minutes, it was crucial to outline what we need to show and what we need to tell.
Scripting: Next, Abby drafted the script, and we went back and forth on copy until it was just right!
Production Day 1 – The first production day was planned for a date with no scheduled programming. This was intentional so that we could capture empty classrooms in detail without being a disruption.
Production Day 2 – Every project has its hurdles, and timing was a key challenge for this one. To highlight Robbins’ beautiful surroundings and showcase just how large the facility is, we incorporated drone footage. Our original plan was to shoot this in the spring to ensure the leaves were back on the trees and the grass was green again! However, a construction project timeline pushed this out until late August. With careful planning and communication we were able to get everything we needed before the leaves changed! Jeffrey Gordon from Ideal Video Strategies is one of our go-to “drone guys” and he really helped make this production possible. When visiting for the aerials, we also captured footage of students in active learning.
Voiceover – We collaborated with talented VoiceOver artist Meghan Cofer, who delivered a warm, professional narration that brought the script to life.
Post-production was led by Kayla. We worked closely together to develop pacing and flow that made the video feel digestible (while remaining jam packed with useful info!)
The Final Result
The finished video, showcased on Robbins Children’s Programs’ homepage, beautifully highlights the organization’s legacy and services. It allows families to clearly envision the resources and opportunities available, making it a valuable asset for outreach and engagement. The feedback from their team has been incredibly positive, and we’re excited to continue partnering with them on future projects.
At Main Paige Media, every project begins with a deep dive into our client’s unique goals. For Robbins Children’s Programs, the focus was on showcasing their facilities and rich legacy rather than individual stories. By tailoring our approach to their vision, we crafted a video that does more than inform—it captivates and inspires.
