Earlier this year, we spent a winter afternoon with Kelsie Bettencourt, the founder of Buddy Sitting, and honestly, it was one of those shoots where we spent half the time smiling behind the lens. Kelsie isn’t just a dog walker; she’s a former vet tech turned trainer and she runs “Dog Camp” where she takes a pack of dogs out on local trails and manages them off-leash with calm, confident control.
Kelsie reached out to us after having participated in one of our Express Reels sessions. For this production, she was looking for something really different. Her goal was to show her current and prospective clients what the experience actually looks like. Their dogs come home happy, but what exactly are they up to?

Because dogs don’t exactly follow a script, we filmed with two cameras to ensure we captured the entire pack. We brought in Kristina Vicario as our drone operator and second videographer, allowing us to capture stunning aerial footage of Kelsie and the pups moving through fresh snow. Filming near sunset gave us beautiful golden light, but also meant we had to be intentional with timing.
We decided to skip the traditional interview and just let the hike speak for itself. Instead of describing the hike, we immerse the viewers in it. In the final edit, you’ll hear boots crunching through fresh snow, dogs’ collars jingling as they run, and Kelsie’s calm, steady commands guiding the group. You’ll see how the dogs respond to her, how she manages their energy, and how confidently she leads the pack. By focusing on natural sound, movement, and real-time interaction, the piece feels like you’re on this hike with them.
For Kelsie’s business, this piece will reinforce value for current clients, support retention, and help new clients build trust and understand her expertise.
And can I just say this was by far our cutest shoot to date?!
