Honoring Tim Miner: A Video that Helped Raise $1.1M for a Boston Nonprofit

Each year, Voices & Visions, the annual gala for The Home for Little Wanderers, celebrates the profound impact this organization has on vulnerable children and families across New England. We’ve been honored to collaborate with them for two consecutive years to help tell those stories through video for this Boston nonprofit organization.

In 2024, we had the pleasure of sharing DaSean Greene’s story. DaSean is a young magician and former resident of The Home’s young adult housing program in Manchester, New Hampshire. DaSean moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of becoming a professional magician. He earned acceptance into The Magic Castle, and now receives guidance from celebrity mentors. This production has been one of my absolute favorites to date.

A Mission-Driven Gala in Boston

This year’s Voices & Visions Celebration was a moving tribute to the people and stories that embody The Home’s mission—including one of its most dedicated leaders. Our project centered on honoring outgoing board chair, Tim Miner. His decade of service was marked not only by strategic leadership, but also by a profound personal commitment. In 2012, Tim and his wife welcomed three siblings into their home as foster children. This expanded their family of five and changing lives in the process. We were invited to tell this powerful story of compassion, community, and heart-centered leadership.

Behind the Scenes: Boston to Brooklyn

To tell Tim’s story, we embarked on a four-day production journey that spanned Boston, Brooklyn, and Sherborn, MA. We interviewed his children, his colleagues, and community members who supported the family during their foster journey.

Back in November, we captured footage in Sherborn, MA to incorporate into this production. Then, in April, we began shooting the interviews in Boston with Director of Photography Adrian Atwood, myself, and Kayla Avitabile on site.

Because Tim’s daughter is based in New York, we had to get creative. In order to save on travel costs, we subcontracted this interview to Manuela🔹 Senatore Chief Video Strategist of Skilla Productions. Manuela and her team set up the cameras in Brooklyn. I was able to join them via Zoom to conduct the interview.

Post-Production for Nonprofit Video

As Creative Director, I worked closely with our editor Kayla to craft a video that honored Tim’s legacy as both a leader and a foster parent. The final 8-minute piece weaved together heartfelt interviews, family photos, and visuals that illustrated both the depth of his contributions and the love his family extended to others.

To elevate the production even further, Amelia designed a custom opening animation. This aligned with The Home’s branding, setting the tone for a piece that was polished, celebratory, and deeply emotional.

Boston Nonprofit Video Inspires Generosity

The video debuted at this year’s Voices & Visions Celebration and played a meaningful role in an evening that raised $1.1 million in support of The Home’s mission. While the video was just one part of the evening, we’re proud that it helped move hearts, honor Tim’s service, and highlight the power of personal storytelling to inspire action.

We are all so proud of how this piece came together. You can watch the full tribute here:

At Main Paige Media, we believe stories have the power to elevate impact, build connection, and create real change. This Boston nonprofit video was a testament to that—an example of how film can honor legacy, celebrate community, and inspire generosity.
